Term 2: January-April 2012
P3L have been actively investigating our new 'Money, Money, Money' topic! We brought in old coins from home and enjoyed finding out how old they were and how different they were to our money now. We made a timeline showing the oldest coins from 100 years ago right up to the coins made most recently. We also investigated the currency they use in other countries like America, France and Turkey :) and found these countries on a big map and little globe!
Our P3L shop is also open every day with busy shopkeepers and customers problem-solving how to pay for things using the least number of coins! We even have a fantastic hand-made till which Katie-Leigh and her lovely Mum made at home! Our shop really is soooooo cool!!!

The tots in P3L have 'Brain buddies'....we get together with our brain buddies and learn by sharing ideas and actively doing.
Here we are investigating number stories and sorting 2D and 3D shapes...
P3L September 2011!
In P3L our new active learning topic for this half-term is called "Me in my World!" We have a big yellow planning together board in our classroom and we add our ideas and new learning to our board each day using brightly coloured sticky notes!!
Here are 2 clever detectives investigating with their magnifying glasses during Activity Based Learning. They are learning all about their 5 senses!
We learn Spanish in Ballysally P.S and have just celebrated European Day of Languages! We really enjoyed learning French with 2 students from Coleraine High School...

Here is a snapshot of all our hard work in Numeracy...this week we have been investigating which numbers can be added together to make 13 by building very colourful walls!!!! 10+3=13, 3+10=13..............
