Community of Scientific Enquiry
P6/7G were invited to star in a DVD to promote The Community of Scientific Enquiry initiative. Following a successful year with the COSE project last year (which saw Ballysally PS winning the C.S.I event in the University of Ulster Coleraine), the school continue to pioneer this new approach to Science.
The Community of Scientific Enquiry approach is a development of Philosophy for Children specific to the teaching and learning of science. It aims to promote better questioning and skilful thinking about science and its impact on humans, and to develop students’ understanding of science and how it works.
The Wizard of Oz
Following completion of their Class Novel, P6/7G will be attending the matinee performance of the Wizard of Oz in the Dominican College, Portstewart on Wednesday 22nd February 2012. Following the performance they will be taking a trip to Morelli's in order to sample the new ice-cream sundae which they designed in order to win the Business Battleground 2012!

THE WIZARD OF OZ
The Wizard of Oz
P6/7G are currently enjoying their class novel - The Wizard of Oz.
Here you can see them in action as they work together in groups to plan a piece of 'recount' writing, re-telling the significant events in the story so far.
SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS
In preparation for this year's School Council Elections, some members of P6/7G have written manifestos to win votes.
In these pictures you can see some election 'hustings' taking place where each candidate delivered the content of their manifesto before taking part in a Question/Answer session with the electorate. It was great fun!
